Frequently asked questions
Our projections work with any standard projector. You don’t need any special technology.
Simply point the projector at a light wall or an even surface and your home transforms into a small Christmas world. For window projections, we use a thin rear-projection film that you attach directly to the glass. This way, the image is visible from outside as well. Perfect for festive windows or glowing street scenes. Installation only takes a few minutes and you’re ready to go.

All you need is a projector or a TV. It doesn’t matter if it’s a high-end device or an affordable mini projector.
Our files are optimized to run smoothly on almost any device while still looking brilliant. You can play the videos via USB stick, HDMI, or streaming stick – whatever suits you best. For window or wall projections, we recommend an even, light surface.
Of course, you can also simply show the scenes on your TV, for example as a Christmas mood setter in the living room. To make sure your setup works perfectly, you’ll find tips on device choice and brightness in our blog.
No – complete darkness is not necessary. Slightly dimmed light is already enough for the projections to feel atmospheric.
The darker the room, the more intense the colors glow and the stronger the magical effect. For window projections, night-time outside lighting naturally creates the best contrast. If you project during the day, just make sure there is no direct sunlight on the surface. You’ll be surprised how well the glow stands out even in normal light.
For projections on windows, we recommend a special rear-projection film. It provides a clear, bright image that is visible from outside as well.
The film is simply applied to the window pane using a little water or spray adhesive and can be removed without residue. For floating effects in the room, thin gauze or projection nets work perfectly – almost invisible, but with an impressive impact. This way you can have characters, lights, or even whole scenes appear as if they’re floating in mid-air.
We regularly share tips and accessory recommendations in the blog so you can find exactly the materials that work best for your setup.
The length of our projections varies depending on the motif and mood.
Some scenes run as short, repeatable animations, others are little cinematic experiences with a beginning and an end. We care less about the exact number of minutes – and more about a feeling: calm, wonder, and Christmas magic. Many users keep their projections running in a loop throughout the evening to create a continuous atmosphere.
Every scene is designed to feel magical – whether you enjoy it for five or fifty minutes.
Yes, absolutely – we’re happy when our projections reach as many people as possible. You’re very welcome to show them in schools, kindergartens, shop windows, or at small events.
Our goal is to bring light and joy into the world, not to limit it.
If you’re planning something bigger – like an individual installation or your own custom motif – feel free to get in touch. We’ll support you with technical questions, legal clarity, and the creative realization of your idea. Together we’ll bring magic to the places where people can experience it.
Behind Lumus Factory is a small group of creative minds from Düsseldorf – designers, filmmakers, musicians, and storytellers.
We share the wish to bring light, warmth, and imagination into the world with simple means. We love the idea that a projector and a bit of curiosity are enough to make kids marvel and adults smile.
With our projections and stories, we want to create a modern Christmas feeling – magical, yet real.
And the best part: we’re constantly developing new ideas so the glow continues long after Christmas.

Super cute, instantly festive. Short, snappy and really easy to play — get it!
Perfect for a quick, stylish decoration — simple, cheerful and very cozy. You turn on the projector, align it and you're done.
Ran the loop in my shop window — people actually stop and watch. Setup took 2 minutes and the file size is great. If you're looking for something for your window, try it.
Projected at home on the wall: it looks much bigger than expected, and the warm brown and cream tones are really cozy. The resolution easily holds up for my living room — you don't need much gear, just play it.
Perfect for event decor: the 30-second loop is just long enough to set the mood without getting boring. The smiling gingerbread on the deep black background comes through with great contrast. We used it on wall projections, windows and even a hanging net — it looked great everywhere. Easy to handle: play, position, enjoy.
I run a small café and wanted an easy, atmospheric display for the window. Result: noticeably more evening foot traffic and lots of people smiling as they pass. The imagery is minimal yet friendly — the green eyes and red sugar balls are very inviting. The 1000×562 resolution stays contrast-rich even when projected larger, and the compact file size means playback is hassle-free. Only wish: an optional longer version would be nice. Otherwise, a clear recommendation if you want something charming and effortless.
Kids and guests loved it — the motif feels so warm. I even played it on the TV and it looked great. Small critique: I'd like a few color variants, but otherwise awesome.
